The Chessmen by Peter May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this advance proof copy at the bookshop I work in and I loved it. Coming from the Island means that I recognise all the landscape and cultural references but at the same time there is an excellent crime story that had me hooked to the very end. I couldn't put this book down and will be highly recommending it to all our customers when it hits the shelves later this year/beginning of next.
